Savarin Palace.
A Historic Home for a Modern Experience.
Located on Na Příkopě Street, in the very heart of Prague, Savarin Palace stands as one of the city’s most iconic baroque landmarks.
Built in the 18th century and designed by the renowned architect Kilian Ignaz Dientzenhofer, the palace is a masterpiece of Czech Baroque – where symmetry, sculpture, and light come together in timeless harmony.
Once home to noble families and later a gathering place for Prague’s artists and intellectuals, Savarin has always been a symbol of culture, refinement, and conversation.
Heritage & Architecture
Savarin Palace – also known historically as the Sylva-Taroucca Palace – carries with it centuries of artistic legacy.
Its façade is decorated with eleven statues by the celebrated sculptor Ignác František Platzer, restored in meticulous detail during recent renovations. Inside, vaulted ceilings, ornamental stuccoes, and grand staircases reflect the opulence of an era when Prague was at the crossroads of European art and society.
This architectural dialogue between heritage and craftsmanship continues to define the spirit of the building today.
Transformation & Renaissance
Over the years, the palace has evolved from a private residence to a cultural and social hub – hosting salons, cafés, and gatherings that shaped the intellectual rhythm of early-20th-century Prague.
Recently, Savarin underwent a comprehensive restoration as part of the Savarin Project, a visionary redevelopment linking Na Příkopě, Jindřišská, Panská, and Wenceslas Square into one vibrant city block. The restoration preserved the soul of the baroque architecture while opening it to a new era of design, gastronomy, and modern experience.
